Silverstrand Developments were engaged by Lend Lease to undertake a number of civil and concrete packages as part of the Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade. The upgrading of KSD involves widening the road from four to six lanes between Theodore Street at Eagle Farm and Cooksley Street at Hamilton. It also includes improvement works between Cooksley Street and Breakfast Creek Road at Albion.
Silverstrand’s provided a skilled team for the project consisting of a site-based project management team, form workers, concreters, steel fixers, scaffolders, riggers & dog men to complete all works in accordance with the relevant Codes of Practices, DTMR, Lend Lease and Brisbane City Council specifications.
- Construction of 1,200m2 reinforced concrete load transfer platforms adjacent to the KSD marine structure;
- Construction of an in-situ reinforced concrete manhole 2.4m wide x 2.4m long x 5.5m deep within a sunken caisson structure at Cameron Rock Reserve Inc. Installation of 2.1m dia cast in pipes;
- Construction of an in-situ reinforced concrete outlet headwall 3.5m high with 2.5m long wingwalls within sheet piles to prevent tidal inundation at Cameron Rock Reserve Inc. Installation of 2.1m dia cast in pipes;
- Construction of multiple in-situ reinforced concrete nonstandard stormwater and sewer manhole structures;
- Installation of 375mm dia to 2400mm dia reinforced concrete stormwater pipes;
- Construction of reinforced concrete retaining walls;
- Construction of 1,000m2 + of driveways, pram ramps and foot paths;
- Construction of VMS and signage footings;
- Management of all QHSE for the works; and
- Review and implementation of RPEQ designs for each structure.
