Silverstrand undertook a number of civil and concrete works packages as part of the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 2 project. All works were carried out in accordance with DTMR Specifications and included the supply of all formwork, scaffolding, craneage and concrete pumping, with many works being completed in restricted access areas, confined spaces and at night.
Scopes of work included:
- Construction of a 422mm long retaining wall Inc. capping beam, traffic barrier, footing beam and installation of a pre-cast concrete panels adjacent to the Smith Street Motorway;
- Construction of a pre-cast concrete panel wall and FC sheeting infill within the GCUH Tunnel on night shift Inc. Supply and installation of all metalwork, fc sheeting and painting;
- Construction of concrete lined drains;
- Construction of various sizes of concrete footings for noise barriers;
- Construction of concrete footings for slip form barriers;
- Construction of in-situ concrete retaining walls;
- Construction of in-situ pits;
- Construction of shocrete lined batters;
- Construction of footings for the Parkwood Overpass Bridge;
- Installation of approx. 75m2 of tactiles;
- Breaking out slip form barrier concrete for the installation of overhead lighting;
- Installation of overhead gantry signage;
- Construction and repair of driveways;
- Pile breaking;
- Concrete repairs to pits; and
- Construction of stairs for electrical substations.
