Silverstrand were engage by Roadtek as a principle contractor to upgrade a section of storm water drainage located on Duncan Road in Sheldon. As the project was located on a live road the works were required to be completed at night with the use of traffic control.
Scopes of work included:
- Supply of all labour, plant and materials;
- Demolition of existing headwalls and pipes;
- Earthworks Inc. Clearing and grubbing and removal of unsuitable material;
- Saw cutting of existing pavements;
- Excavation of existing pavements;
- Excavation, installation and backfilling of 75m of DN375 & DN450 RCP;
- Excavation, installation and backfilling of concrete gully pits and kerb entry units;
- Excavation, installation and backfilling of DN1050 pre-cast concrete access chambers;
- Construction of in-situ headwall to suit DN450 RCP;
- Placement of rock to swale drain;
- Installation of subsoil drains, cleanout points and outlets;
- Construction of new pavements Inc. placement and compaction of base course and sub base materials and placement of new asphalt to road surface;
- Construction of new asphalt driveways;
- Construction of 80m of new Type 7 kerb and channel;
- Line marking;
- Installation of road reflectors;
- Placement of top soil and turfing for remediation; and
- Supply of traffic management.
